I am absolutely delighted and deeply honoured to have been awarded a Knighthood for ‘political and public service’ in the position of Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (KBE).
I was pleased to meet the Northampton Litter Wombles in the Houses of Parliament recently to see a presentation from them about the brilliant work they are doing to help tackle the ever-growing problem of littering.
Saturday, 24th June marked Armed Forces Day and I made sure to recognise the important work of His Majesty’s Armed Forces by walking in procession from the Guildhall to Wood Street with local councillors, to attend the military parade that took place in Northampton Town Centre.
I was delighted to cut the ribbon to officially open the new post office in Kingsthorpe. The new facilities are located at 18 Alexandra Terrace, Kingsthorpe, Northampton, NN2 7SJ.
On Wednesday 24th May I attended the “Business Champions” reception hosted by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Jeremy Hunt MP, at Number 10 Downing Street to recognise and celebrate those who have made a positive contribution to the local economy and the local business community.
