Regular readers of this Newsletter will recall that I went litter picking with the Northampton Litter Wombles a couple of months ago, having met the Northampton Litter Wombles in Parliament.
On Tuesday 24th October I was invited by the Secretary of State for Education, the Rt Hon. Gillian Keegan MP, to nominate a local “Skills and Apprentices” Champion from Northampton to visit 10 Downing Street.
On Friday 27th October I visited Weston Favell Police Station in Northampton and had a meeting with Inspector Rodney Williams to discuss crime in my constituency and the measures taken to tackle it.
In the past four weeks since Parliament has been in session, I have contributed to a number of debates in the House of Commons and have asked a number of questions.
Holding regular canvassing and leafletting sessions in Northampton over the 13 years which I have been an MP have always been a great way of keeping in contact with my constituents and hearing people’s views face to face so that I can best represent them in Parliament.
I was in Abington Street in Northampton town centre at 9.30am on Sunday 17th September to welcome around 1,300 runners for the start of the first annual Amazing Northampton Run.
This race is a re-launch and re-branding of the earlier Northampton Half-Marathon.
I was invited by the Minister of State for Veteran’s Affairs, Johnny Mercer MP, to nominate a Northampton military Veteran to celebrate our military personnel and recognise their service to our country at a “Veteran Champions” Reception at the Prime Minister’s residence at Number 10 Downing Stree
It is important for everyone to take good care of their mental health, which is why I was very pleased to learn about the One Million Lives app as part of Suicide Prevention Week in Parliament.
