I was in Abington Street in Northampton town centre at 9.30am on Sunday 17th September to welcome around 1,300 runners for the start of the first annual Amazing Northampton Run.
This race is a re-launch and re-branding of the earlier Northampton Half-Marathon.
This very successful half-marathon took place starting from outside the Grosvenor Centre in the town centre and passed through a wide variety of interesting and historic sites around Northampton. The full route can be found here - https://ridewithgps.com/routes/41612842
I was very happy to witness the success of the half-marathon first-hand, and see off the 1,300 participants and 30 charity partners working alongside with marathon’s organisers- Go Beyond Challenge.
I am always happy to support local community events that help charitable causes. The Amazing Northampton Run was certainly no exception, and I very much hope to attend again next year, although actually running in the race is probably somewhat beyond my capability!!
