The King Visits Parliament and Unveils Jubilee Gift Michael Organised

On December 14th 2022 I had the great honour of welcoming His Majesty the King whilst he was visiting Parliament.

The King visited to formally unveil the Platinum Jubilee Gift to Her Late Majesty the Queen, which marked the 70th anniversary of Her reign last year.

Michael Visits All Saints Primary School in Northampton

In the last fortnight I visited All Saints Primary School in Northampton and had a Question & Answer Session with two classes of Year 6 Pupils, answering questions on a variety of topics including my work as an MP and how Parliament works.

Michael Plants Tree in Northampton for Green Canopy Scheme

Northampton School for Boys recently invited me to their grounds to plant a tree. 

During my time at the school I hosted a Question & Answer session with the pupils, this session was largely focussed on the environment.

Michael Visits Blackthorn Primary School

In the last fortnight I was very pleased to visit Blackthorn Primary School who have been given a ‘Good’ grading this year by Ofsted. This a huge achievement for the staff and     pupils of the school and a proud moment for all concerned.

Michael’s Commons Speech on “Counsellors of State Bill”

I recently made my first speech as a full Backbench MP in the House of Commons in some 10 years in support of the Counsellors of State Bill. The Bill increases the number of members of the Royal Family who can stand in for The King for official duties.

Each year, MPs are permitted to claim for certain expenditure, such as on staffing, office costs (including accommodation and equipment), and travel.
