In the last fortnight I visited All Saints Primary School in Northampton and had a Question & Answer Session with two classes of Year 6 Pupils, answering questions on a variety of topics including my work as an MP and how Parliament works.
I always enjoy my visits to schools across Northampton and taking questions from the inquisitive pupils on the functions of Parliament and details of my role as the Member of Parliament for Northampton North.
It is important to cultivate an interest in politics and democracy at an early age in order to encourage participation in our democracy and active citizenship, and I am pleased to say that the children at All Saints Primary asked great questions and took a keen interest.
