I was delighted to cut the ribbon to officially open the new post office in Kingsthorpe. The new facilities are located at 18 Alexandra Terrace, Kingsthorpe, Northampton, NN2 7SJ.
The former empty shop has been fully refurbished to become Kingsthorpe Post Office and a joint convenience store called Fran’s. The name is a combination of the first names of the new owners Frédérick and Aniko Brejouin.
A number of residents had previously been in contact with me concerned about the lack of a post office in Kingsthorpe following the closure of the post office near Waitrose in April 2022.
Many local residents were concerned that they would permanently lose access to local postal services, with the nearest post office service then some distance away.
Now it is excellent news that Kingsthorpe has a Post Office again, and I am happy that vital postal services to this area of Northampton have now been restored. This is especially important for in-person banking, so businesses and individuals can now do their banking at their local Post Office.
My visit was also covered in an article in the Chronicle and Echo, which you can read via the following link: MP cuts the ribbon at Kingsthorpe Post Office, restoring service to this area of Northampton | Northampton Chronicle and Echo
