The Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) is a unique tree planting initiative originally created to mark Her Late Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee earlier this year. It invites people from across the United Kingdom to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee”.
Everyone from individuals to Scout and Girlguiding groups, villages, cities, counties, schools, colleges, companies and corporations is encouraged to play their part in protecting and enhancing our environment by planting trees during the official winter planting season between October to March. Tree planting under this excellent scheme will continue through until the end of the Jubilee Year.
Would you like me to visit you to plant a tree at your business, school, college or street? If so please let me know and I would be delighted to do so.
With a focus on planting sustainably, the QGC encourages the planting of young trees as a perfect way to both honour Her Late Majesty’s magnificent legacy whilst also creating a new legacy which will benefit future generations.
As well as inviting the planting of new trees, The Queen’s Green Canopy has announced that there will be a dedicated network of 70 Ancient Woodlands across the United Kingdom and they will identify 70 Ancient Trees to celebrate Her Majesty’s 70 years of service.
