Michael attended an even in Parliament which sought to bring attention to “bully banks” - a group created in 2011 by a small group of British business owners who want to co-ordinate the complaints of small and medium sized businesses against misconduct from the bigger banks.
Commenting on the event Michael said:
"I have stood up for people against banks over the years, and personally intervened in several cases to help small and medium sized businesses in Northampton. I was therefore pleased to have attended an event in Parliament.
I also met with a constituent who owns a small business which employs several people in Northampton to hear his concerns.
Small businesses are the backbone of this country’s economy and we should support them as much as we can. The government has given all businesses and charities a £2,000 tax cut on their National Insurance Contributions, which will help many new and small businesses to hire an extra person or two and in some cases perhaps hire their first employee."
