Recently I had one of my regular meetings with the Leader of West Northamptonshire Council (WNC), Councillor Jonathan Nunn, at the Council’s Angel Square offices in Northampton town centre.
During our meeting I highlighted a number of local issues relevant to Northampton that have been raised with me by constituents. The issues included potholes, fly-tipping, town centre regeneration, charges for council services, taxi driver by-laws and more.
WNC have a new taxi ride and private hiring licensing policy which a number of local drivers have written to me about.
Other matters which we talked about included local asylum seeker accommodation and social housing concerns which have been relayed to me by my constituents.
I have regular meetings with council leaders, getting an update on areas of concern, and determining measures by which my concerns, and those of my constituents, can be addressed. Our meetings have been very productive in discussing issues of importance relevant to the welfare of my constituents in Northampton North.
