I was delighted to welcome Theresa May to Northampton on Monday to meet local residents in Westone and to hear local views on the doorstep.
Theresa has been a phenomenally successful Home Secretary and is the longest serving Home Secretary for many years. She has clamped down on home-grown terrorists, overseen huge reductions in crime in Northampton and across the country and sent Abu Qatada packing on a plane back to Jordan.
After the chaos of Labour's Home Office (4 Home Secretaries in 4 years) Theresa has brought some much needed stability and consistency back to one of the great offices of British Politics.
Voters on the doorstep seemed pleased to meet Theresa on the campaign trail and to discuss local and national issues.
We also had the chance to take a look at some of the newly resurfaced roads in the area which saw major work as a result of my successful pothole campaign. If honoured with re-election on 7th May, you can rest assured that I will keep the pressure on Government to increase funding for improved roads and services in Northampton North.
