I recently met a number of students at the University of Northampton at Waterside Campus who are working with the student union to organise an anti-knife crime concert in Northampton alongside other community groups such as “Off the street NN”, and “Guiding Young Minds” to raise awareness of the issue amongst young people and encourage them to engage on this topic via workshops as a platform to help create a safer community.
During our meeting, we discussed their proposal and I offered to help by putting the group in touch with relevant local figures and officials who may be able to provide further assistance in setting up their event.
Despite a nationwide reduction in knife crime over the past few years, it remains a subject of concern.
Regular readers of my newsletter will know of my interest in the subject given my background in criminal law, as well as my work with Northamptonshire Police and other local groups who are focused on the subject, which you can read more about via the following links:

I am always keen to support anyone campaigning to reduce knife crime and all measures to put more police on our streets and protect our community.
