On Friday, 14th December I visited Parklands Nursery School and Playgroup to join some of the very young children and their parents for a festive Christmas sing along! With the festive period in full swing it was nice to join in singing classics from ‘Jingle Bells’ to ‘Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer’.
I often visit schools in my constituency to speak to the pupils and teachers about my work as the local MP as a way of engaging with all ages. The children I meet are always enthusiastic and the older ones are inquisitive about politics and my role. Any way to help engage more people in the democratic process is great. I managed to find my singing voice with help from the children! It is great to see such a community spirit during the festive season and it was a pleasure attending the singalong.
