I always enjoy opportunities to meet and talk with students and young people and in the last fortnight I met with students at Northampton University Park Campus for a lengthy Q&A session, answering an interesting variety of questions they posed to me over the course of an hour.
The University of Northampton is a great asset for our town, as it brings jobs, investment, expertise and business to the area, as well as providing quality education to many young people from Northampton and the wider region.
It is always a pleasure to visit the campus, and I particularly enjoyed the chance to talk to Multimedia and Journalism students on the topic of press relations with politicians.
As you might expect with journalism students there were some quite challenging questions and I was left wondering whether I might see one of the students again in the future, perhaps in Parliament as a Westminster correspondent!
