From mid-March until the end of April 2017, Westminster Hall is hosting an exhibition of stitched Scottish Diaspora panels. For many of the days a resident of Northampton, who contributed significantly to the exhibition – both through stitch work and the organisation of the exhibition itself – stewarded and I went to see the panels and talk to my constituent.
The exhibition celebrates people of Scottish heritage from all around the world, and people with Scottish ancestry globally had volunteered to stitch panels for the exhibition – there were panels from people in Australia, South Africa and some made in Northamptonshire. The stitch-work was very impressive and the exhibition was a like a journey through history.
