I always enjoy meeting students, and was pleased recently to be able to speak to a group of University of Northampton students when they came to visit the Palace of Westminster. There have been a large number of visits by the University of Northampton and Northampton College over the years and I have been involved in many of them.
The students visiting this time, studying Urban Affairs, were very switched-on and asked interesting and thoughtful questions about UK government and politics. I was also happy to share with them some of the history of the wonderful building, and explain more about the work I do.
I also occasionally am able to give interviews to budding young student journalists, and over the Easter break I offered one young Northampton student journalist the chance to grill me on a number of issues.
