In the last fortnight I attended the Community Security Trust’s annual dinner.
This charity helps protect British people of the Jewish faith from anti-Semitism and hate crime. The work of the Trust is ever more important now with the worrying rise in anti-Semitism in the country, and increasing examples of anti-Semitism emanating from the Left as well as the Far Right.
This year’s dinner was addressed by the Home Secretary, the Rt. Hon. Amber Rudd MP, who praised CST for its proactive work in ensuring that Jewish places of worship and community centres are protected by professionals.
CST also advises other faith groups about their security and their work is highly respected. They receive government support through the Home Office and work closely with the police to support this important work. The Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick was also present at the dinner.
