During the summer, Parliament is in recess and most MPs tend to be away from Westminster. Many use this time in their constituencies, and may go on parliamentary delegations to other countries.
I have been in Northampton throughout, attending events in the constituency and researching issues for my role as Deputy Leader of the House of Commons.
One thing I always do in the recess period is to use every opportunity to go around the town with my young team of volunteers, knocking on doors and meeting residents of Northampton North on their own doorsteps. Even in the age of social media, I find this is one of the best ways to hear about the issues that matter most to residents of Northampton North.
I look forward to seeing many residents over the coming weeks, and if you see me out and about, don’t forget to say ‘Hello’!
