Burglaries in the Asian Community

meeting

The crime rate has come down significantly in the past couple of years, and crime rates in Northamptonshire are lower across almost every scale.

However, sadly some burglaries have been targeted at members of the Asian community in the past year and this has caused understandable distress and anxiety within that community. A public meeting was held at the Gateway Resource Centre in Mill Road and I was invited to attend and address members of the community, together with senior police officers.

The police have been working hard to deter potential burglars and this seems to be bearing fruit.

I attended a safety event put on by the Northampton Bangladeshi Association highlighting the need for vigilance and how as a community we can protect ourselves.
