On Sunday, 9th February I attended the Northampton Rotary Club’s 50th Anniversary lunch, as they kindly invited me to be their Guest Speaker.
Rotary Clubs are local branches of Rotary International, a worldwide organisation that aims to bring together business and professional leaders to advance humanitarian service – be that through championing local causes, or raising money for charities across the country and beyond. It is a non-political and non-religious organisation open to all, with 35,000 member clubs worldwide and over 1.2 million members.
In Northampton the Rotary Clubs have organised the Dragon Boat Race annually for many years and by doing so have raised tens of thousands of pounds for good causes, including the Northamptonshire and Warwickshire Air Ambulance.
