For the past 18 months Michael has been campaigning for the Government to give more money to our county to help fund road maintenance.
After continuely lobbying in the government and even welcoming the Sectretary of State for Transport, Patrick McGloughlin, to look at the condition of Northampton North's Roads, Michael now adds a Petition, signed by over 1,200 of his constituents, to his record of action.
This morning Michael delivered the petition to number 11 Downing Street and hopes that his efforts to represent Northampton's road surface problem will be rewarded in the Chancellors budget later this month.
Michael has said he believed Northamptonshire should be rewarded with more money in the upcoming budget for its proven track record of delivering road improvements efficiently and effectively.
“I raised the issue of more money for Northamptonshire’s roads for about the 10th time with George Osborne last week.
“I believe the petition could really help get more money for the county and I’m really trying to put some pressure on the Chancellor before the Budget statement.”
