I enjoyed a visit to Headlands Primary School in recent days, where Year 6 pupils quizzed me on everything from housing to social care. After what has been a turbulent time for children's education throughout the pandemic, education remains a priority for me, and I was pleased to be invited to visit this very well-run school.
The children were very inquisitive to learn about democracy and parliament, which I was told they have been studying extensively in their classes.
I understand that in recent weeks the pupils benefitted from a Q&A session with the BBC’s Political Editor, Laura Kuenssberg, who, among other things, discussed how to interview a politician, and they certainly proved capable of doing so!
