I thoroughly enjoyed a visit to Northampton College in Booth Lane recently, where I met students and was taken on a tour of the latest facilities. I have visited Northampton College many times in the past, most recently just before the pandemic, and I always enjoy speaking to the staff and students.
I was delighted to get a tour of the Advanced Construction Engineering (ACE) Centre, having had the privilege of attending the opening of The Centre in 2019. The state-of-the-art facility provides training opportunities for up to 450 students on full time Study Programmes, professional development courses for adult students and Apprenticeships. It was a pleasure to see how the next generation of construction professionals are being trained in such things as carpentry, bricklaying, painting and plumbing.
I also enjoyed meeting media students in the Digital Academy, during which I participated in a Q&A in the impressive TV studio, and I look forward to visiting the college again in the coming weeks to meet more students and classes.
