On Saturday, 28th September, I visited the St George’s Street Mosque in the Semilong area of Northampton to meet and talk to members of our local Muslim community.
This was the Mosque’s annual Open Day, and I have visited several times over the years. I was very pleased to meet the Imam and a number of worshippers and leaders as part of the mosque’s “open day”.
Days such as these, where a religious institution opens its doors to the public, provide a good opportunity for people to see how religious groups practice their faith. It was a pleasure to hear from some notable speakers among the Muslim community, and I enjoyed a tour of the premises.
I will continue to support all residents in Northampton North, including those of all faiths and none.
