In October 2018 the owner of Leicester City Football Club, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, along with four others, was killed in a helicopter crash when leaving the club grounds in Leicester. Vichai was hugely liked and respected, not only for his support for the Club, but also for the local community, and the Club has been deeply affected by what happened.
As a Culture Minister in the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport I was honoured to visit Leicester City Football Club on Saturday, 23rd February to pay my respects, on behalf of the Government, for those who died in the appalling and traumatic incident.
