I was invited to visit the Wellbeing team at Northampton Academy: at this large secondary school there are a group of adults who work to safeguard children in the school.
The Wellbeing team at Northampton Academy do a great job of helping the students and provide a vital service for the school which allows the pupils to discuss issues with their safety and wellbeing. Children often need a lot of support during their school years and the more avenues from which they can receive this, the better – especially as through the Wellbeing team, pupils can discuss matters in a safe environment.
During my visit to Northampton Academy I was also able to talk to some of the pupils there; I always enjoy visiting schools and talking and listening to the children, and have been invited to visit several schools again in the autumn to talk about our political system and answer questions from students, and I look forward to those visits.
