In recent days I took the opportunity to meet Kingsthorpe Jets Football Club, where I met the club’s Chair (Nick Hart) and Vice Chair (Lee Mcrae), as well as local recently re-elected Councillors, Sam Rumens, Michael Brown, and Mohammed Azizur Rahman.
The Club leaders and local councillors shared with me their proposals for the development of the ‘Kingsthorpe Rec’ sports facilities. The club is currently engaging in a public consultation to gather the thoughts of local residents, having distributed some 5,000 leaflets to properties in Kingsthorpe.
Kingsthorpe Jets comprises some 28 teams with around 400 players, and they are currently receiving several more enquiries each week from prospective new players. The team have youth boys’ teams and girls’ teams starting from under-6 , through to adults, with men’s and women’s teams.
Activities were obviously disrupted during the pandemic but I am told the Club is now back to 100% pre-Covid- and growing!
The club’s Facebook page is now live, and it can be found here: Kingsthorpe Jets Gamechangers - Home | Facebook; and their online survey can be completed here: We'd love to hear your thoughts... (google.com)
