I was pleased to catch up with Theresa Grant, who is the Chief Executive of Northamptonshire County Council (NCC), to further our work together throughout Covid-19 and beyond.
Theresa is a career public servant with over 42 years’ experience in Local Government throughout the British Isles and has been doing excellent work in supporting areas such as Children’s Services, Adult Social Care, Roads, and Care Homes.
Theresa has led the hard work and dedication from teams and individuals across Northamptonshire in dealing with the pandemic. We still have a long way to go in the fight against this virus but supporting the most vulnerable people in our community remains our top priority.
NCC has created a local ‘Covid-19 Outbreak and Prevention Control Plan’ in preparation for a possible local outbreak. The plan is designed to clarify how the County Council, in collaboration with our Local Resilience Forum partners and other key stakeholders, will work with the NHS Test and Trace service and regional Public Health England Centre to ensure our system is ready to play its part should any local outbreaks arise. These measures will ensure there is ready support available for care homes and schools, and to help for those needing to self-isolate.
Support for the most vulnerable in our communities remains a priority and I very much look forward to continuing my work and engagements with Theresa in the weeks and months ahead.
