In the last fortnight I met some young students from St Peter’s School, a primary school located in the Great Billing area of Northampton, to discuss politics, my role as a Member of Parliament and to listen to the pupil’s views and opinions on the matter. The school pupils then had a tour of Parliament.
I always relish the opportunity to talk to young people about politics.
It is also vitally important for politicians to talk to their constituents about an array of issues, which is why I regularly canvass for views, and this includes young people. I have visited and talked to pupils from every school in my constituency, most more than once, during my eight years as MP for Northampton North and I look forward to continuing to meet more students and to hear their views about politics.
