As part of Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, I attended the Platinum Jubilee Proms Concert at the Derngate Theatre in Northampton, celebrating The Queen’s 70 years on the throne.
The performance was staged by the Northampton Bach Choir, accompanied by Wellingborough Singers and the Orchestra da Camera. The performance was very enjoyable and the musicians performed brilliantly, including stirring renditions of Sir Henry Wood’s Fantasia on British Sea Songs and Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance.
The evening was another addition to our town’s celebration of Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee, following the recent celebrations in the town centre, which you can read about here: https://www.michaelellis.co.uk/news/northampton-celebrates-queens-platinum-jubilee
The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year continues and in the autumn I hope to plant some tree saplings in Northampton as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy scheme. If you would like me to plant a tree sapling at your school, business or other location in Northampton please do email me.
