Last weekend I was pleased to head along to Abington Park for the opening of the new “House of Fun”, a centre for young people.
The building is behind the police post on the corner of Abington Park, near the Wellingborough Road. Now it has been remade into a youth drop-in centre for 11 -18 year olds.
This is a great community project made possible by the hard work and drive of local residents of all ages. Those involved include the Council, Northampton Association of Youth Clubs and various Churches across the local area including the Park Avenue Methodist Church and Broadmead Baptist Church.
Inside there are a number of up to date computers for people to surf the internet, a kitchen area, a brand new pool table, games and space for young people to hang out.
The people involved in this project really worked hard to get it off the ground and I congratulate everyone involved.
