Northampton University Students Union representatives were amongst those at a Reception in the Houses of Parliament and I was pleased to meet with them, together with the Vice Chancellor Professor Nick Petford.
The event was to highlight the green initiatives Universities have been doing up and down the country and particularly those things Northampton Students Union have been doing over recent times to improve the Carbon footprint and eco-friendliness of the University.
The University has been doing well in the national and global rankings, and our University is now England’s Number 1 University for Employability- a great accolade.
The University is investing £330m at the new Waterside Campus in the Government’s Enterprise Zone, which will place hundreds of students nearer the town centre. This will be great for local shops and trade in the town centre. The new campus, opening in a few years, is another example of the regeneration and investment we are putting into the town to set us up for the decades to come.
