Broadmead Baptist Church in Northampton North are raising money for an exciting new building project, and have already raised over £700,000. There is more to do, and I was delighted to be invited by the Revd Adam Eakins to unveil a new Foundation Stone for a new Church and Community Centre on the site. The new building will help the Church and congregation to continue their work in the area.
It was a real pleasure to join Northampton’s Baptist congregation for this special event, and I was honoured to be asked to unveil this stone.
I know very well that the Baptist Church do a lot of very positive work in Northampton, and also run Samuel’s Christian Nursery, a popular local nursery, which I visited in December last year.
Regular readers of this column will know that I have offered my support to groups from all the main faiths practised by constituents in Northampton North, including of course Christian events at our Churches, both Anglican and Roman Catholic, in civic services and at Christmas; Muslim festivals such as at Eid, for the Hindu festival of Diwali, and for Sikh events at the Gurdwara and elsewhere. All the faith groups in Northampton work together very well and do great work.
Residents of Northampton North of any faith, and of none, can be assured of my continued support.
