I am pleased that Conservatives have taken steps to cut taxes for millions of people since 2010. In Northampton North alone 35,782 people have had their taxes cut and 4,274 people have been taken out of having to pay income tax altogether.
On top of the action we have taken to ensure that people keep more of their own money, we have also cancelled Labour’s planned Fuel Duty increases. This means that the cost of a tank of fuel for a small car is £7 cheaper than it would have been under Labour – an annual saving of £728 per year for someone who fills up twice a week.
I will continue to support these measures; with the economy back on track it is only right to ensure that people who get up and work hard to support their families have more money in their pockets.
